Shenyang is among the earliest frontier cities for Siemens' development in China. The cooperation between Siemens and Shenyang dates back to as early as 1906, when Siemens delivered a telephone exchange system to the city, marking the start-up of modern communications network in northeast China. Siemens set up its Shenyang Branch in 1996, only two years after the establishment of Siemens Ltd., China. To date, almost all business segments of Siemens, including automation and control, industrial solutions, transportation, building technologies, power, medical solutions, lighting and household appliances, are active in the region.
