OSRAM, a 100 percent owned company of Siemens, inaugurated today two new buildings within its Foshan plant to scale up its production and R&D for highly energy-efficient and environmental lighting products in order to meet the growing demand in the Asia-Pacific market, especially China. With a total investment of RMB 400 million till 2010, the new facilities will form strong green production capacities with solid R&D capability by 2010, making Foshan one of the largest of all OSRAM sites in the world. This further underlines OSRAM's strong confidence in China's economic growth even under current global economic recession and shows OSRAM's firm commitment to support Chinese government's appeal to promote National Green Lighting Campaign.
