Siemens Participates with Complete Environment Portfolio in Nanjing for the Fourth World Urban Forum

The fourth session of World Urban Forum (WUF) is held during Nov.3-6 in Nanjing, capital city of Jiangsu province. Siemens opened its corporate booth at the WUF, displaying to the public the company's complete "green" portfolio in the areas of power transmission and distribution, power generation, building, lighting and healthcare, all with a clear focus on energy-saving and environmental care. Siemens' strong environmental portfolio showcases the company's focus on building a harmonious society which is in line with "Harmonious Urbanization", the theme of WUF4. Mr. Bernd Eitel, Vice President of Siemens Ltd., China and Director of North East Asia Corporate Communication participated in the event and addressed a speech themed "Way of Harmony" to exchange ideas with local media.
World Urban Forum, held by the UN-HABITAT every two years, is the summit forum of urban development in the world and top conference concerning human habitation. The World Urban Forum is concerned with such issues as energy, environment, land, housing, infrastructure, healthcare, education, safety, etc. On occasion of the 4th WUF in Nanjing, Siemens set up a corporate booth of 100 m² which highlighted the company's technological contributions to climate protection.
As a result of global energy consumption, greenhouse gases such as CO2 emission increases dramatically and leads to series problem of global warming. In the exhibition, Siemens showed the public top-class solution to climate change in its key business areas of energy, industry and healthcare: With innovative technology, Siemens generates and distributes the power we need and meanwhile reducing CO2 emission drastically; Siemens is building state-of-the-art works, reducing production costs and lowering emissions; and Siemens healthcare is fully committed to systematically optimize its products and systems such that any unwanted impact on people and the environment can be minimized.
