Sharing the dream, sharing the love Siemens holds Volunteering Day to help with handicapped school kids

Just a week after the conclusion of Beijing Paralympics, Siemens organized a Volunteering Day with Anhua Special School to help school teachers to organize special physical training and rehabilitation classes for mentally-handicapped school kids.
Dr. Richard Hausmann, CEO of Siemens North East Asia, President and CEO of Siemens Ltd., China, accompanied by about 40 Siemens employees, attended the event today. On the ceremony, on behalf of Siemens Ltd., China, Dr. Hausmann donated 10 laptop computers and distributed Siemens souvenirs to the students.
"Embracing corporate responsibility to advance society is one of our Siemens corporate principles and volunteerism is one of very important parts of Siemens Caring Hands program", emphasized Dr. Hausmann. "It is a very precious opportunity for our employees to experience the care to the mentally disabled students and the unremitting efforts of these kids to combat adversities in life. Caring for disabled persons is one of the symbols of building a harmonious society. Being a good corporate citizen, Siemens will encourage more employee volunteers to contribute to China."
Mr. Long Jianyou, the School Principal also expressed his appreciation to Siemens, "Thanks for Siemens volunteers who helped our children and made their day full of fun. You really made a difference".
Established in 1986, Beijing Chaoyang Anhua Special School houses 168 mentally disabled students from age 2 to 17 years. It is a specialized full-time and lodging school recruiting students for pre-school, primary and vocational education
