Early Children's Day Gift

The children living in the Sun Village received their Children's Day gifts as early as in mid May when 36 employees from Siemens Management Consulting (SMC) visited them and helped the child care organization work out developing strategy and financing plan. The Sun Village is the only nongovernmental charity organization that is looking after children whose parents are serving terms in prisons in China. Having been taking care of such children for over 14 years, the organization now has around 500 kids living in its facilities across the country. (June 2009)

 
 

Employees of Siemens Hearing Instruments Volunteers for Helping Disabled Persons to Realize Their Dream of City Tour

Employees of Siemens Hearing Instruments (Suzhou) Co., Ltd.(SHIL) joined the volunteering activity for helping the disabled persons to realize their dream, which was sponsored by Suzhou Disabled Persons' Federation. On May 26, 2009, the employee activity for helping the disabled persons to realize their dream of city tour was successfully held. Siemens employee volunteering team and staffs of Disabled Persons' Federation led more than 100 disabled persons in Suzhou to visit the Hubin Avenue, the Yuanrong Time Square and the Ferris Wheel of Suzhou Industrial Park(SIP). Visitors took photos with great interest at sightseeing spot they visited, for the tour was precious for them who rarely had opportunities to go out of home. Taken good care of by the Siemens volunteers, the disabled visitors enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the nature and experienced the rapid development of Suzhou Industrial Park.During that afternoon, our employees donated books including children's books, education, management, linguistics and literature, reference books and so on, of which were also given to the poverty-stricken disabled persons to help them to realize a simple dream of reading. Siemens volunteers give environmental classes to Shangba kids

Forty-five Siemens employee volunteers in Guangdong Province jaunted to Shangba Village in northern Guangdong and offered water and environmental protection lessons to the local pupils on May 23. The volunteering activity, which is part of the Siemens Green Village Shangba Pilot Project, is aimed at awakening the local young generation's environmental protection awareness.  (May 2009)

 
 

Sharing the dream, sharing the love Siemens holds Volunteering Day to help with handicapped school kids

Just a week after the conclusion of Beijing Paralympics, Siemens organized a Volunteering Day with Anhua Special School to help school teachers to organize special physical training and rehabilitation classes for mentally-handicapped school kids. (September 2008) more

 
 

Corporate Citizenship Program "Enlightening the Future" celebrates its 5th anniversary

Siemens launched "Enlightening the Future 2006" program in Guangdong. 55 Siemens volunteers together with 3 teenagers from Xikeng village helped by previous Enlightening the Future projects arrived in Lianhe Village, Boluo county to set up the first PC-lab, the first library of the village and provide training of basic PC skills, English and science for local teachers and children. This year the program also celebrated its 5th anniversary. (September 2006)

 
 

Siemens volunteers pay follow-up visit to Xikeng Primary School

With International Children's Day approaching fast, a Siemens volunteer team from Guangzhou paid another follow up visit to Xikeng Primary School in Northern Guangdong, where Siemens set up a library and PC lab in 2003. The volunteers donated school stationary to the local pupils, and maintained the computers. They also provided further PC skill training to the local teachers. (May 2006) 

 
 

Siemens launched "Enlightening the Future 2005" program in Guangdong

Siemens kicked off "Enlightening the Future 2005", a program initiated in 2002. A Siemens volunteer team consisting of 47 Siemens employees from Guangzhou and Shenzhen went to Hongxing School located in eastern Guangdong to establish a school library and PC lab with internet connection with the donation of over 2,100 books and 12 computers. The volunteers also provided basic PC skill training and English training to the local teachers and students. (November 2005)

 
 

Siemens volunteer teachers in Shijia Village

Further to the donation to Shijia Primary School, located in Tielu town in Xi'an, Shaanxi in February this year, a Siemens volunteer team made up of the colleagues from Siemens Xi'an office and Siemens Signalling Co., Ltd. (SSCX) donated three computers to the school in November. The volunteers also provided PC training to the local teachers and gave English lessons to the local pupils. (November 2005)

 
 

Together We Make a Difference

Seven alumni members of the Siemens Graduate Program (SGP) worked on a housing complex in Dingwo village, Guangxi province to improve the lives of ten formerly leprosy-infected villagers. The villagers were living in isolation since 1957. (June 2005)

 
 

Xikeng children celebrate

Children from Xikeng village located in the impoverished northwest region of Guangdong Province and Siemens volunteers, who gave a helping hand to the village, together celebrate the 100th anniversary Siemens first Office in China. During the celebration in Guangzhou, the 9-year-old Zhu Jialiang gives volunteer Thomas Nauhardt a warm hug. Nauhardt, together with other volunteers, traveled several times to Zhu’s school to teach him and his classmates English. (May 2004)
