Siemens Home Appliance Launched the 'Laundry Aid' Program in Earthquake-hit Regions

"We finally have the laundry to do washing!" Said by Mu Qunli, one student comes from Class 4 of Grade 1 in Guixi Junior Middle School. It is just the International Children's Day today. 'Holding Hands, Caring Everyday' - Siemens Home Appliances 'Laundry Aid' Program has come to this school in the afternoon. Mr. Gerke, President and CEO of BSH Home Appliances (China) Co., Ltd., not only announced the opening of the Laundry Room, but also brought the students a lot of gifts for the festival, like stationary, sports equipments and cleaning supplies, etc. To Mu Qunli and her classmates, all above was really a big surprise, because they could finally say goodbye to the days when doing washing by hand. Siemens to help reconstruct clinic in Sichuan

Siemens and its employees embark on a new relief action on the occasion of the one year anniversary of the Sichuan earthquake and signed a donation agreement today with the Sichuan Red Cross to help reconstruct the Gongyi Public Clinic in Chongzhou City of Sichuan Province in order to improve the disaster-hit healthcare services in the town. The over RMB 3.3 million Siemens contribution, which comprises of donation from its employees nationwide and a batch of medical equipments and services, will be used to renovate the local clinic's devastated buildings and build a new inpatient building as well as to equip the clinic. Up to date the donation has brought the total relief amount of Siemens and its employees to over RMB 17 million since the earthquake.

 
 

Former heads of Siemens China donated to China Sichuan Earthquake Relief

Two good friends of China and former heads of Siemens China, Mr. Hermann J. Kölle and Dr. Juergen Oberg donated 1,000 Euro in cash to the victims of the devastating earthquake through China Soong Ching Ling Foundation.

Officials on behalf of China Soong Ching Ling Foundation thanked Mr. Hermann J. Kölle and Dr. Juergen Oberg for their kindness and generosity. "We confirm the receipt of your wonderful donation." said officials from the Foundation, "We'd also like to assure you that your contribution has been transmitted to Sichuan earthquake area for helping relief the disaster."

Both Mr. Kölle and Dr. Oberg expressed their utmost concerns for China earthquake victims. "We both hope that our donation will help to bring some relief to the people affected by the earthquake," said Mr. Kölle. "As old friends of China, we still have a strong connection to this fascinating country and its people," said Dr. Oberg.

CEO Interviewed by CCTV on Siemens' Immediate Action against Sichuan Earthquake

On June 12, 2008, CCTV conducted an exclusive interview with Dr. Richard Hausmann, President and CEO of Siemens China on Siemens emergency aid for earthquake relief campaign. During the interview, Dr. Hausmann introduced Siemens' immediate donation of RMB2 million to the Red Cross Society of China. Apart from this, Siemens also contributed the most needed equipment and service worth of RMB 4 million to help with the local victims that are still suffering from the aftermath of the devastating earthquake.

"Siemens aims to provide the most needed for the earthquake affected region," said Dr. Hausmann during the interview, "with cash donation as our first series of actions, our next step is to provide water filter equipment and remote diagnostic medical systems, since clean water and medical assistance are urgently needed following disasters in the country. A service team has also been set up to support the maintenance work and on site service 24 hours a in the earthquake region."

Siemens Employees Donate Over RMB2.3 million to Assist with Earthquake Relief Efforts

Company Donation topped by Personal Employee Contributions to push up the total Siemens donation over RMB15 million.

Siemens  donated a significant part of its employee voluntary donation, over RMB2.3 million to the Red Cross Society of China. Siemens China announced that, to date, its employees nationwide have contributed more than RMB 5 million to aid victims of the earthquake that struck Sichuan province on May 12, 2008. Siemens Supports the College Education of Orphaned Students in Sichuan

Dr. Richard Hausmann, CEO Siemens North East Asia and President and CEO of Siemens Ltd., China, visited Mianyang, Sichuan Province today and signed a donation agreement with Mianyang Education Bureau to sponsor the college education of 20 students who lost their parents in the earthquake. The 1 million RMB funding committed by Siemens will be used to cover the four years’ intuition fees and living expenses in college for 20 orphaned students in Mianyang, who will be taking their college entrance examinations starting from tomorrow to July 5. Siemens Cares for School Children in Sichuan

Siemens donated 100 sets of "Discovery Boxes" to Chengdu Paotongshu Primary School today to inspire the interest of the newly back to school children in science and enhance their passion for learning. This is the third major donation Siemens made to the earthquake-stricken areas further to its donation of 2 million RMB and medical equipment and water filters worth of over 4 million RMB shortly after the earthquake. Remote lifeline: Siemens China set-up a tele-diagnostic system to save lives of victims injured by the earthquake

Siemens Healthcare China installed a tele-diagnostic system on May 18 to provide immediate help to patients injured by the earthquake. This marks an additional feature of Siemens’ relief and emergency aid efforts in response to the devastating earthquake in Sichuan province. The system, made possible through cooperation with Huaxi Hospital, Huaxi Public Medical Information Service Co. Ltd. and Chengdu Telecom, linked the hospital in the capital city of Sichuan with a remote hospital in Mianzhu city, 70 kilometers away from Chengdu and in the center of the earthquake-hit area. Up to today, around 600 patients have been diagnosed via this remote lifeline. (May 2008)

 
 

Siemens China further donates multi-million-worth equipment to earthquake-hit area

Siemens China announced today that it further enhances its relief efforts by donating medical equipment and services worth RMB 3.8 million and 15 water purification units worth RMB 350,000 to the most impacted areas of Sichuan. In addition, a 24-hour “Emergency Task Force” has been set up to ensure the smooth operation of Siemens healthcare equipment in the earthquake-hit area, marking the launch of all-round deployment of Siemens’ relief and emergency aid efforts in response to the disastrous earthquake in Sichuan Province. ETGZ Echos “We Are Together” Donation

In light of the snow storms which have hit many places in Southern China since January 2008, ETGZ (VA Tech ELIN Transformer Guangzhou Co., Ltd) employees actively responded to the Donation Campaign “We Are Together” and totally collected RMB 8,000 for the snow-stricken regions of China. Siemens donates to the earthquake victims in Jiangxi

Siemens China launched an employee donation drive in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou to collect winter clothing for the Jiangxi earthquake victims. A total of 1,834 pieces of winter clothing, quilts, blankets and other winter necessities were collected and channeled through the Executive Committee of Foreign Investment Companies (ECFIC) to the Jiangxi provincial government. The donations will be distributed to those people in the earthquake-stricken areas to help them get through the cold winter with warm clothing. ( December 2005 to January 2006 )
